Enjoy nature in its untouched beauty by hiking the Cowichan Footpath along the Cowichan River, or various forest trails.  Or journey to the famous Carmanah valley for a hike and view the first growth forest. There are trails for the novice to the more advanced hiker.

Observe our unique Vancouver Island Black Bear in their natural habitat while drifting down a river in one of our drift boats. Our black bears don’t hibernate very long   because of our mild climate, so we have an extended bear watching season.  Over 12,000 black bears inhabit our island.

Book a scenic ocean tour with Ocean EcoVentures located in historic Cowichan Bay.  Witness Orca, Humpback, Grey and Minke Whales, as well as Porpoises, Seals, Bald Eagles, and Sea Lions in their natural habitat.
